Job overview

We are looking for a candidate experienced in, and passionate about clinical service transformation. The candidate should be skilled in project management and the application of Lean Methodology. The overall purpose of the role is to lead on and provide expert advice and support to others in delivering strategically identified improvement projects across the Trust. Projects will be led end to end by the Lead Continuous Improvement Manager and delivered using the appropriate methods to enable significant improvements and subsequent benefits. The role will be responsible for organising and facilitating multi-disciplinary teams during the life cycle of the improvement activity and require suitable levels of governance.

A key element will be to lead Yellow Belt level training to colleagues across the organisation, in addition to ongoing training, teaching, mentoring and coaching to individuals at all levels on Continuous Improvement method and theory to ensure delivery and sustainability of their projects. Main duties of the job

Lead medium to large scale improvement projects using the appropriate continuous improvement method depending on type of project, developing performance / improvement processes in area of specialism which impacts across the whole Trust. Work effectively and collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical areas to provide professional expertise and advise to support them implementing improvement projects. Provide expert advice and guidance to clinical and operational leadership teams in building an engaged workforce that utilises all Trust staff to drive results towards organisational goals. Extensive knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies to enable training delivery to individuals and groups of all sizes. Provide operational line management and coaching as required to the Continuous Improvement Project Managers and ensure that all staff have up to date appraisals, objectives and personal development plans. Implement & test new ways of working whilst ensuring suitable approach used to ensure successful improvements sustain over time e.g. embedding new measurement and management system, Gemba, standard work etc.

Extensive experience of leading end to end continuous improvement projects with demonstrable improvement and benefit Experience & knowledge of Lean management & measurement systems, whether as part of an improvement project or as an organisational initiative Experience of leading the delivery of training to large groups. Demonstrable working knowledge of health service management, including change management, acquired through formal training and experience.

Communciation and Analytical

Essential criteria

Analysis of performance data and capacity and demand data, assessment of projects, identification of areas for collaborative working /expert analysis of performance/service redesign Excellent communication and presentation skills, through all mediums, with experience of successful influence and engagement of Senior Leaders and Managers through the lifecycle of continuous Improvement projects. Ability to adapt communication style depending on stakeholder
