EYFS Teaching Assistant

A Primary SEMH school based in Preston are looking to hire a full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant to further support their pupils. These pupils have an EHC Plan and additional needs including ASC and SEMH Additional Needs.

School Key Information:

  • Primary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school.
  • Pupils aged 5-11 years with additional needs, all pupils have an EHC Plan.
  • Staff may be required to provide personal care- successful candidates are required to be happy to provide personal care to pupils in their care.
  • The school’s ethos is to ensure equality and thriving together as a team- successful candidates will be required to work well as a team and put the well-being and safety of the pupils before their own.

Role Requirements/ information:

  • Full-time availability- Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30 pm)
  • School based experienced is desirable but not required.
  • Teaching Assistant Qualifications or EYFS/ Nursery experience is also desirable but not required.
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay £12.90 p/h (AWR will come into place when you have worked in the same provision for 12 weeks)
  • As the pupils within the class have SLCN additional needs you will be required to use MAKATON to support the pupils, training for this can be found online or may be provided in school.
  • This is a small school that has 8-10 pupils per class as a maximum and some pupils may require 1:1 or 2:1 support so successful candidates must be able to work well as a team and happy to work on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis if required.

  • Attend the Teaching Personnel Office in Preston to provide your original documents required for your profile to be fully set up.
  • Have availability for a teams or face-to-face interview.
  • You may be required to attend a free trial day or paid trial week at the school – trial days and weeks ensure you are the right fit for the school and helps both staff and yourself that it is the provision for you before booking you on a longer term basis.
  • Have an in-date UK Passport, Driving licence or provisional registered to your current address, your Birth Certificate or paper Bank Statement, Utility Bill, Council Tax or P45/P60 registered in your name at your current address and within the last 2 months.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
