Job summary

We are looking for individuals who will enjoy delivering highquality clinical and personal care alongside fun activities. You will key worka caseload of CYP allowing for you to make a real difference and make memories.You will be part of a multi disciplinary team including nurses, nursingassociates, health care assistants, activities coordinators and a child andfamily support team. The role willinvolve some evening and weekend visits and will also involves working as a24/7 rota when providing end of life care in the community.

We have a mixture ofadult, learning disability and paediatric nurses working in the care team andvalue all the different skills that nurses bring. You do not need to haveexperience of working in palliative care or paediatrics as we offer acomprehensive development and preceptorship programme along with inhousetraining which can be delivered to support staff to achieve clinical skills andconfidence.

This role will provide you with job satisfaction,knowing that every day you have given exceptional care. You will be providedwith numerous development opportunities and will see what an exciting career palliativecare can be.

Main duties of the job

Weare looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate nurses to provide Children /Young People (CYPs) palliative care working in the hospice community team.Childrens palliative care involves delivering short respite breaks aimed athaving fun and adding life to shortened years as well as end of life care andcare after death.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

RNC or RN Adult or RN LD registration

Desirable

Teaching and mentorship qualification

Experience

Essential

1 year post qualification Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding procedures.

Desirable

IV competency Experience of working with CYP with complex needs. Evidence of a range of clinical competencies Experience of working in a palliative care setting Experience of working in a community setting

Skills

Essential

Ability to communicate effectively with children, families and professionals Ability to work as part of a team Time management and organisational skills Competent IT skills Car owner and willingness to travel across the county and visits to the hospice in Arundel Willingness to drive Chestnut vehicles and transport CYP
