Marshall are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking Quality Technician with a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You will also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.
This opportunity is open for applicants with either Quality or Inspection experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.

  • Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards, ensuring goods and products comply with engineering drawings, specification and standards.

  • Take responsibility for decisions around releasing product to customers and guide production operators in quality based decision making.

  • Management, control and administration of the calibration process, ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.

  • Reporting quality anomalies.

  • Collating test data and issuing quality reports.

  • Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.

  • Lead internal issues investigations, collaborating with other departments, ensuring satisfactory corrections are in place.

  • Participate and support in the on-site customer Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) process.

  • Undertake incoming inspections of both commercially available and in house designed parts from external Suppliers and internal manufacturing units.

  • Independent inspection and testing of manufactured products and assemblies.

  • Ensuring that the "End Item Data Packs" are complete and correct.

  • Issue MRB's, Internal Inspection Reports, and SNCR's as required.

  • Ensure all Internal Inspection Reports are closed in the timely manner and effective corrective actions implemented.

Ideally you will have:
To ensure success as a Quality Technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of inspection processes and test equipment, high degree of competence in interpreting technical drawings, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Motivated and passionate about quality with excellent eye for detail.

  • Enthusiastic and effective communicator, able to collaborate with other functions within organisation.

  • Confident and courageous to raise issues as and when required.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of inspection processes and test equipment.

  • High-level of visual awareness.

  • Experience drafting reports and collating data.

  • Substantial experience of operating in an ISO9001 Quality Systems environment.

  • Knowledge of quality tool for fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.

  • A high degree of competence in interpreting technical drawings, specification, tolerances and drawing symbols.

  • Must be competent in use of basic measuring equipment e.g. Vernier, micrometer etc.

  • Experience in weld fabrication processes (desirable)

  • Use of Q-Pulse (desirable).

  • Experience of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principals (desirable).

  • Knowledge of ERP systems e.g. IFS, CMM or laser scanning (desirable).

Education:

  • Internal auditor qualification (desirable)

Experience:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment as an inspector or quality technician.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Including: MIG and TIG welding, joining technology, metal fabrication techniques, electrical and pneumatic systems, machining techniques and painting systems.

  • Weld Inspection experience to CSWIP3.0 (desirable)

  • Additional local needs

  • Hold a full UK driving license. Willing to visit Customer/Supplier, ad hoc meetings.

Based in the UK, with operations in Canada, Marshall specialises in the design and production of deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence and security operations across the globe.

Other core services include the integration of complex systems into a range of vehicles for use by the military and security services including explosive ordnance disposal and battlefield ambulances all underpinned by a full in-life managed service provision to ensure customers' equipment is available where and when they need it.
