Salary: Starting from £39,000, depending on skills and experience

Who we are

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is an organisation dedicated to honouring and caring for the graves and memorials of servicemembers who died in the two World Wars. The work of the commission is not only out on the field, but in our head office too, which contributes to the meaningful commemoration of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be an integral part of ensuring the organisations beautiful and iconic cemeteries and memorials stand the test of time. You will do this by assisting and advising the Area operational teams to sustainably manage our historic estate with a conservation-based approach to both structures and landscapes. 

You will be advising best conservation practices and uphold careful management and change across the Commission’s global estate.

In this fulfilling role, you’ll produce specialist conservation research to ensure all operational work is planned and executed to an appropriate standard and forms part of a long-term management of our cemeteries of the future.

What You Need to Have

A relevant degree or equivalent qualifications or suitable involvement in conservation or heritageExperience in the conservation and care of historic estates, landscapes, and buildingsExtensive experience of in-depth archival research and report writingExperience of working with a broad range of internal and external specialists across a multi-cultural organisation
