About theOpportunity:
FedTec is looking to hire a Sr.Project Manager for The Virginia Department of Transportation(VDOT) Information Technology Division to manage and deliver acomplex IT project(s) with multiple teams and work streamscoordinated to an aggressive delivery schedule. Under the programmanager the project manager is responsible for the outcome of theassigned projects. The project manager leads the team through theCommonwealth Standard for Project Management for successfulcompletion of the project phases: PreSelect Initiation PlanningExecution

Position: Sr. ProjectManager
Work Location: Richmond VA


Candidate MUST possess PMPcertification through PMI or VITAs PM certification. No othercertification qualifies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a handson technical project managerwith development staff and business groups.
  • Coordinate and communicate with ITD management and staffto coordinate work tasks and resourcing.
  • Communicate timelines and expectations to technical andbusiness staff. Collaborate with vendors consultants andcontractors in the execution of projects including contractmanagement and working with the procurement office(s).
  • Adhere to VDOT and VITA project management practices andgovernance requirements; coordinate with VDOT and VITA ProjectManagement Offices.
  • Maintain project budgetplans tasks schedules risks and status and disseminate informationto team members and customers as defined in the communicationsplan.
  • Ensure documentation of requirementsand use cases facilitate design workshops for assigned projects.
  • Ensure definition of test objectives designedtest plans and test cases for assigned projects. Provide themanagement of project milestones and deliverables for ontime andonbudget delivery.
  • Define measure and clearlycommunicate progress with metrics. Support system and applicationtraining efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to interact effectively with customersand project team members.
  • Ability to analyzeand translate requirements into system specifications.
  • Knowledge of project management tools methods andpractices.
  • Ability to analyze design developtroubleshoot and implement technology solutions.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project software.
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word ExcelPowerPoint) and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Knowledgeof data modeling interface management applications andtools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of projectmanagement methodologies.
  • Active ProjectManagement Professional (PMP) or VITA certified Project Managementcertification
  • Ability to communicateeffectively orally and in writing.
  • Experiencein both Agile and Waterfall project management.
  • Ability to program and create custom reports using ITapplication standard tools.
  • A combination oftraining experience or education in Computer Science InformationSystems Engineering Business Administration or related fielddesired.
  • Progressively responsible experiencewith system analysis design development testing andtroubleshooting.

Preferred:
Agile ScrumMaster certification

(REQUIRED ON SITE: 4days/week NO EXCEPTIONS)
