Location: Richmond VA (Hybrid)
Duration: 12Months and possibility of extension

Description:

Seeking a Project manager to work under a Program Manageron a new statewide enterprise technology project. The ProjectManager will report to the ES Project Office Manager and workwithin this PMO but will be directly supporting the ProjectsSponsor Program manager and Project teams.

Daytoday Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of complex largescalehigh priority projects throughout the project lifecycle to ensureit is completed on time within scope and within budget
  • Define document and manage project scope schedule andbudget
  • Develop maintain and distributestandard project management artifacts (i.e. WBS risk assessmentsproject charter RACIs communication plan schedule status reportsetc.)
  • Develop and maintain a detailed projectschedule throughout the project lifecycle
  • Align project deliverables and milestones with projectsstrategy and objectives
  • Manage project withinthe PMO framework process and structure
  • Managestate level projects within the larger procurement and projectmanagement governance processes as directed by PMD &ITIM
  • Keep leadership and the PMO informed ofkey issues that may impact project completion budget orresults
  • Facilitate project conference callsstatus meetings planning sessions and provide for meetingnotes
  • Be a consultant to customers andcommunicate project status throughout the projectlifecycle
  • Proactively identify and mitigateproject risks and issues
  • Manage projectresources overseeing daytoday task execution
  • Utilizing systembased project management applications;CTP Planview


Experience:

  • 5plus years of direct handson technical Project Managementexperience preferable having managed Virginia state leveltechnology projects
  • Experience developing anddocumenting both technical and business requirements
  • Project Management leadership experience of crossfunctional matrixed teams
  • 3rd party vendormanagement experience
  • Procurement experiencepreferably associated with a technology project
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance (e.g. Test Plans TestScripts) and best practices
  • Knowledge ofvaried technologies: COTS solutions Security best practicesCloudComputing and Data Management
  • Strongbusiness technical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and logical thinking
  • Ability to facilitate technical project meetings andtranslate outcome into project schedules
  • Ability to oversee and track progress translatingoutcomes into management briefings and weekly statusreports
  • Clear concise and diplomaticwritten/verbal communication skills across all levels
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detailand multitasking skills
  • Excellentcommunication (verbal and written) presentation and customerservice skills
  • Selfmotivated team player ableto work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure prioritize and meetdeadlines when required
  • Effectively manage andsolve complex business and technical problems
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies applications andbusiness processes
  • College degree or militaryexperience Masters degree preferred
  • Experienceusing systembased project management applications; CommonwealthTechnology Portfolio (CTP) Planview
  • ProjectManagement Professional (PMP) certification is required
