Or should beclearable JobSummary: The Database Engineer plans designs develops and managesthe organizations databases to ensure efficient data storage accessand security. Collaborates with users to design code test debug anddeploy databases that meet requirements and organizational needs.Writes queries stored procedures and functions for databasedevelopment. Monitors databases performance scalability andsecurity and modifies procedures to optimize database designs.Evaluates existing database designs to determine necessary updatesperformance tuning and integration requirements. Possessescomprehensive knowledge of database technologies and solid codingand computer system skills. Key Responsibilities: Plan design develop and manage CIThosted Oracledatabases and IRMBhosted SQL Databases.Modernize and consolidate databases into a unifiedsolution using Azure Cloud services. Determineand design database solutions ensuring seamless migration ofcurrent Oracle and SQL databases with minimaldisruption. Manage and administer all currentand future databases to ensure optimal performance security andreliability. Implement best practices forbackup recovery and disaster recovery planning.Perform comprehensive Database Administration DatabaseDevelopment and Database Design tasks. Designefficient and scalable database schemas create recurring datamanagement jobs and maintain databases during and aftermigration. Develop robust data integration andsynchronization solutions to connect databases with numerous datasources within NIH. Design the new databaseenvironment for scalability performance and security developingnecessary database components and scripts.Seamlessly integrate databases with modernizedapplications to support efficient data management and highavailability. Align database solutions withthe organizations modernization goals. Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceInformation Technology or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Engineer or similarrole. Strong proficiency in Oracle and SQLdatabases. Handson experience with AzureCloud services for database management and migration.Solid understanding of database administrationdevelopment and design principles. Expertisein writing and optimizing queries stored procedures andfunctions. Experience in monitoring databaseperformance scalability and security. Abilityto evaluate and update existing database designs for performancetuning and integration. Knowledge of bestpractices for backup recovery and disaster recoveryplanning. Excellent problemsolving andanalytical skills. Effective communication andcollaboration skills.
