The weekly pay for this position ranges from £419.25 to £500.

Role Overview:

As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the personal, social, and emotional development of students within the school. Your work will involve engaging with young people, particularly those who may face challenges in their lives, and helping them to navigate these difficulties to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Engagement: Build positive and trusting relationships with students, providing them with a safe and supportive environment. You will be a key point of contact for students who need guidance, offering both one-on-one and group support.

  • Support and Mentoring: Assist students in overcoming barriers to their learning and personal development. This may include helping them to develop life skills, offering advice on coping strategies, and encouraging positive behaviour.

  • Intervention Programs: Work with the school’s pastoral team to design and implement intervention programs tailored to the needs of individual students. These programs will focus on improving attendance, behaviour, and overall engagement with school life.

  • Parental and Community Liaison: Act as a bridge between the school, parents, and the wider community. You will work to involve parents in their child’s education and connect students with external support services when necessary.

  • Extracurricular Activities: Lead and participate in extracurricular activities that promote social inclusion and personal development. These activities could include sports, arts, or community service projects.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Keep detailed records of student progress and the impact of interventions. Regularly report to senior staff and contribute to the school’s ongoing efforts to improve student well-being and achievement.

  • Safeguarding: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies. You will be responsible for identifying and reporting any concerns in line with school procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience, with a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in young people’s lives.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by young people today, including mental health issues, family difficulties, and peer pressure.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a school setting or youth work environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Benefits:

  • Weekly pay of £419.25 - £500.
  • The opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people in a supportive school environment.
  • Full training and ongoing professional development provided by Teaching Personnel.
  • The potential for the role to become permanent, offering long-term career opportunities.
  • Experience in a school rated 'Good' by Ofsted, with a strong focus on student welfare and achievement.
