Youth Worker Position Available in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position is set to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the personal, social, and educational development of young people within the school. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Providing one-on-one and group support to students, helping them navigate personal and academic challenges.
  • Mentoring and Guidance: Offering mentoring and guidance to promote positive behaviour, self-esteem, and personal growth.
  • Program Development: Developing and implementing programs and activities that engage students and encourage their participation in school life.
  • Conflict Resolution: Assisting in resolving conflicts and issues among students, promoting a safe and respectful school environment.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare.
  • Monitoring Progress: Tracking and reporting on students’ progress, adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Community Engagement: Fostering relationships between the school and the wider community, involving external agencies where appropriate.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Supporting and participating in extra-curricular activities that enhance students’ school experience.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintaining accurate records of student interactions, interventions, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A background in youth work, education, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people, particularly in a supportive or mentoring role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to addressing the needs of young people.
  • An empathetic and patient manner.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
