Role Overview:

As a subject-specific teacher, cover supervisor, or support assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent. These roles provide first-hand exposure to the classroom environment, enhancing your communication, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Lessons: Conduct lessons and set tasks for students in the absence of the regular class teacher.
  • Classroom Management: Ensure a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Student Engagement: Promote a culture of respect, discipline, and engagement among students.
  • Behavior Management: Assist with behavior management and respond appropriately to any challenges or disruptions.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and clarification to support students in their learning.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and any significant incidents.
  • Collaboration: Work with teaching staff to ensure smooth transitions between lessons and maintain continuity of learning.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow school policies and procedures to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students.

Cover Supervisor Specifics:

Cover supervisors explore their teaching styles without the added stress of planning and marking. For fully qualified teachers, we can secure subject-specific roles with higher pay and responsibilities, including planning and marking.

Support Assistant Specifics:

Support assistants provide essential help in the classroom, working closely with students who need additional support and aiding teachers in managing the class effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
