Facilities Manager – Reporting to the Director, Engineering Operations

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the management of all MTCe facilities, sites and IT infrastructure. Ensuring that the needs of the organisation, employees, and/or visitors are met including the cleanliness, safety and security of all buildings, equipment and grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage overall buildings and sites including the services provided within all facilities Create and maintain a suitable environment for the purpose and needs of the facilities Work in conjunction with Corporate IT to ensure that strategy is implemented and hardware/software /infrastructure requirements are maintained to the agreed standards Manage and develop Health and Safety policy including the H & S committee Use best business practice to manage and reduce operational costs Manage budgets for various facility needs and expenses (including new asset implementations/launches) Evaluate costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the facility Manage the maintenance of the buildings and equipment including repairs or contracting maintenance services as required Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long & short-term improvements and maintenance Keep the surrounding grounds properly cared for and landscaped Ensure the security of the building by researching and implementing various security measures in keeping with overall security policies Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facilities. Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems. Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

Direct line departmental responsibilities for Maintenance and IT Technical support team carrying appropriate leadership / project management of staff. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and reviewing work amongst the team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience of managing multi-site facilities Strong knowledge of IT hardware and infrastructure management Experience working with H&S advisor in an industrialised/manufacturing business Good communication and professional presentation skills Leadership, man management and conflict resolution skills Capable of organising and managing priorities Computer literate, with advanced MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills/abilities, MS Project expertise preferred Minimum HNCHND third level qualifications.
