Facility Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing all aspects of the facilities and IT infrastructure. This role ensures that the requirements of the organization, staff, and visitors are fulfilled, focusing on the cleanliness, safety, and security of all premises, equipment, and grounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the management of all buildings and sites, including the services offered within the facilities.
  • Develop and sustain an environment that meets the operational needs of the facilities.
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT to ensure the implementation of strategies and maintenance of hardware/software/infrastructure to established standards.
  • Formulate and enhance Health and Safety policies, including leading the Health & Safety committee.
  • Employ best practices to manage and minimize operational expenditures.
  • Administer budgets for various facility-related needs and expenditures, including new asset implementations.
  • Assess costs for various services and products to select the most suitable options for the facilities.
  • Supervise the maintenance of buildings and equipment, including repairs or contracting maintenance services as necessary.
  • Monitor building upkeep and plan for long-term and short-term improvements and maintenance.
  • Ensure the surrounding grounds are well-maintained and landscaped.
  • Guarantee the security of the premises by researching and implementing various security measures in alignment with overall security policies.
  • Address emergency situations or urgent issues related to the facilities.
  • Support and comply with policies, procedures, and operational guidelines associated with established quality management systems.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of safety policies and regulations to ensure that all duties are performed safely.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role includes direct line management responsibilities for the Maintenance and IT Technical support teams, encompassing appropriate leadership and project management of staff. Responsibilities involve planning, assigning, and reviewing work within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in managing multi-site facilities.
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware and infrastructure management.
  • Experience collaborating with Health & Safety advisors in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and professional presentation skills.
  • Leadership, team management, and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with advanced skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; MS Project expertise is preferred.
  • Minimum qualifications of HNC/HND or equivalent.
