An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scoping Decontamination Team Leader to join the Decontamination Department at Pinderfields Hospital.
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic personwith trained or qualified in decontamination of flexible scopes. We are needing someone to support the team with good organisational skills and knowledge of the role. Previous experience in scoping decontamination is therefore, an essential.
This is a full time permanent position working hours per week normally on a rolling rota basis with shifts between and plus 8 Sundays on call per year. This can be discussed further at the interview stage.

Main duties of the job
To ensure departmental operating procedures for Flexible Scoping are adhered to by all Decontamination staff in accordance with quality management system, ISO13485.
To participate in the provision of a specialised decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patients.
To co-ordinate day to day operational arrangements of the service.
To be the first point of contact for the resolution of internal and external complaints and making routine operational decisions within predetermined procedures.
Take lead responsibility for the training and assessment of staff.

To supervise, organise and allocate work and / or train less experienced / qualified staff. Will be expected to use knowledge and skills when making decisions with regards to non-conformances. To ensure routine testing of decontamination equipment at the appropriate intervals to analyse and take appropriate action on any malfunction. To record all routine testing of decontamination equipment. To monitor stocks of raw materials as requested and to take appropriate action on any deficiencies, assist in the evaluation of new products. Meet the demands of the Departments workload whilst consistently achieving high quality standards which will be measured by in-process checks and non-conformance reports. To undertake initial investigation into non-conformance reports as instructed. To use manual dexterity and concentration for the disassembly and reassembly of the reusable medical devices in accordance with manufacturers instructions. To operate decontamination equipment and carry out routine tests in accordance with planned preventative maintenance schedules, quality standards and guidance. To communicate and supervise the enquiries from users and other members of healthcare staff in a polite and helpful manner, seeking scientific advice from senior decontamination staff where required. To have the ability to raise issues or concerns with senior staff. Resolve and address informal staffing issues, referring complex issues to line managers as appropriate. To undertake such duties as required, consistent with the responsibility of the grade and needs of the service. Person Specification
