Role overview

This is a varied role which is pivotal to the success of major continuous projects including RAJAR and BARB,as well as numerous ad hoc surveys such as Anti-Social Behaviour and National Diabetes Experience Studies. It involves sampling UK residents to take part in the surveys and managing complex datasets to store and utilise sampling information securely and efficiently. 

We are looking for someone who is numerate, willing to learn and apply a variety of computer programming skills. This person needs a positive and structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to innovate without losing efficiency or integrity of established systems.

The candidate needs to be a good communicator who will take ownership of tasks, can work independently or in a team as required. The ideal candidate needs to stay calm and focused when there are multiple tasks and requests from different internal departments as well as external suppliers.

What will I be doing?

Providing new survey sample, complying with specifications from both external and internal clients, and creating additional sample when required  Liaising with and advising Research Executives on sample methodology, supplying a variety of outputs both regularly and on an ad hoc basis  Managing and maintaining complex datasets to store, extract and format sample information, appending geo-demographical data as required, and improving processing efficiency wherever possible Investigating and resolving anomalies, ensuring that data is accurate and robust and maintaining sample integrity whilst meeting client needs Maintaining key documents that record sample details for survey continuity and reporting Using bespoke systems to produce regular files for interviewers, including address lists, maps, quota sheets and diary documents

Ipsos UK offers a hybrid working environment, 3 days in the office and working the rest from home. 

What do I need to bring with me?

Experience of running and enhancing programs and procedures  Attention to detail and creativity when investigating and resolving anomalies A logical, structured approach and the ability to analyse large or multiple datasets, using a range of tools efficiently, but adapting to new techniques where needed The ability to manage, organise and prioritise tasks in a varied and sometimes pressured environment The ability to share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues for both immediate and strategic solutions Technical knowledge - experience of Microsoft Office is essential, and familiarity with any of our key tools would be an advantage (although training will be available): Programming in Microsoft SQL or similar Excel Pivot Tables, IF, VLOOKUP, VBA, Macros SAS or SPSS Linux
