What you’ll do

The Strategy Execution team is accountable to the UK CEO/Board for effective and efficient implementation of Vodafone UK’s strategy, along with overseeing enterprise-wide delivery performance. The Senior Manager, Transformation & EPMO is a pivotal senior leadership role within the Strategy Execution team. They are accountable for spearheading an organisation-wide Business Transformation Programme and overseeing the Vodafone UK (VFUK) Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), aimed at enhancing delivery capabilities, fostering consistency, and promoting transparency across the enterprise's portfolio of capital investments. 

This pivotal role will implement the VFUK Business Transformation Programme. Collaborating closely with Business Unit/Functional Portfolio Management and drawing insights from the Strategy Execution leadership team (LT), they will define the vision, scope, and priorities of the VFUK Transformation Programme. The overarching goal is to establish a robust delivery management capability facilitating effective, efficient, and agile business operations throughout VFUK. This will entail harmonising various operational methodologies across Business Units/Functions, leveraging both Scaled Agile (SAFe) and Waterfall best practices. Upon approval of the scope by the Head of Strategy Execution/UK Board, the Senior Manager, Transformation & EPMO is responsible for the delivery of the programme.

The Senior Manager, Transformation and EPMO will lead the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), overseeing the VFUK delivery and governance framework across all portfolios and programs. They will ensure consistent and transparent management and governance of all deliveries, furnishing the Strategy Execution leadership team with insights necessary for board-level understanding of portfolio progression and informed decision-making to optimise delivery performance.

The position requires a highly experienced delivery management professional, equipped with a blend of relevant subject matter expertise, industry acumen, and leadership proficiency. The ideal candidate will have the ability to flex between the strategic and the operational, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and thrive in dynamic, team-centric environments. Crucially, they will possess the gravitas, credibility, and leadership acumen required to rally senior stakeholders behind critical business transformation initiatives. Key accountabilities include:

Provide the strategic thought, organisational and people leadership required to optimise enterprise-wide delivery performance  Lead the organisation-wide Delivery Transformation Programme, defining its vision, scope, and priorities in alignment with key stakeholders.  Collaborate with Business Unit/Functional Portfolio Management to ensure seamless integration and alignment of delivery transformation objectives.  Assume responsibility for the successful delivery of the VFUK Business Transformation Programme, ensuring adherence to approved scope and timelines.  Take charge of the VFUK Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), overseeing delivery and governance frameworks across all portfolios and programs.  Implement best practices in delivery management, leveraging both Scaled Agile (SAFe) and Waterfall methodologies to drive efficiency and agility across VFUK.  Provide transparent and consistent management and governance of all deliveries, furnishing actionable insights to the CEO/Board and Strategy Execution leadership team for informed decision-making. 
 

Who you are

Proven track record as a delivery management professional with significant Delivery, Transformation and PMO experience.  Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and align stakeholders towards common goals.  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to convey complex ideas effectively.  Demonstrated ability to navigate between strategic vision and operational execution.  High energy and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  Gravitas and credibility to drive critical business transformation initiatives at the senior level.
