The purpose of the role is to assist with the provision of technical support to the Lead Engineer for the planning and delivery of track renewals ensuring technical aspects of all works comply with relevant Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA), Balfour Beatty, Network Rail Group and Line Standards and safety legislation.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

As an Engineer you will have the following accountabilities:

Assist with the provision of technical support to the Senior Engineer, Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager; Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office; Ensure all works are undertaken all works in compliance with Contractual Specification and Network Rail Group and Line Standards; Assist with and attend Whiteboard / Stage Gate meetings in accordance with CRSA Track Renewals Procedure producing the required outputs to support effective and robust delivery of the works to completion; Review completed works to ensure Best Practice and Lessons Learnt activities are captured, recorded and utilised in future work planning and execution; Assist with the preparation and submission of Bar Charts/Time Chainage charts, Lifting Plans, WPPs, task Briefs and other site documentation all works; Plan and requisition all plant as required for the works; Participate in the planning and preparation of Track Renewal works.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

Good knowledge of Track Renewals Disciplines; Excellent knowledge of Rules & Regulations, H.A.S.A.W and other appropriate regulations; Excellent knowledge of both group and line standards; HNC in an Engineering discipline (or working towards); Good IT and communication skills; Able to drive; PTS and COSS.
