Job summary

The post holder will lead a team of pharmacists who work as part of ELFT community based mental health multi-disciplinary team across Luton and Bedfordshire. The lead pharmacist will provide clinical leadership on medicines optimisation, quality improvement and work in partnership to support medicines and safety priorities across the directorate.

Main duties of the job

Be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing care to mental health service users. Review medications and provide medicines optimisation and rationalisation to reduce risk and promote appropriate prescribing.

To act as a clinical role model and demonstrate the ability to provide safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of medicines.

To be responsible for ensuring that clear policies, procedures and standards are set and adhered to in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, for the safe, effective and economic use of medicines.
