About us

We have 2 GP Partners and working alongside them is our clinical team of 6 salaried GP's, 2 ANP's, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Trainee Practice Nurse, 2 HCA's, we are a training practice of medical students and trainee Doctors. We have built an amazing team of administrators who work well together ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Job responsibilities

Purpose

The medicaladministrator is the first contact point for patients with our practice. Theyensure patients queries are appropriately understood, direct them to the mostappropriate service or person and organise activities and appointments thatenable their healthcare needs to be met

Key Areas of Work

1. Provide highquality, polite, caring and informed response to patients queries in person, bytelephone or electronically to enable them to be directed to our mostappropriate service in a safe, appropriate and clinically prioritised manner.

2. Administer all aspects of patient care including makingappointments, responding to letters and documents from patients and otherhealthcare providers, supporting clinical referrals and the administration ofprescriptions.

3. Create safe andwelcoming patient environments including participating in practice opening andclosing regimes, maintaining stocks and supplies in clinical rooms and patienteducation and information resources.

4. Support efficientand timely administration of all aspects of the practice such as invoice andbilling, maintaining data integrity and accuracy, scanning and documentmanagement and new patient registration requirements.

5. Working with awide range of healthcare professionals in and outside of the direct practiceteam to support integrated and co-ordinated care by accurate data recording,use of various IT systems and working with shared protocols and practices.

6. Use IT systems totheir optimal effect to enable data held to be interpreted, analysed and usedto support practice or broader NHS goals and targets; support clinical auditpractices and enable target delivery of care programmes based on patient need.

7. Work as part of ateam to ensure our services welcome and are responsive to patient feedback andfind ways to continuously improve and streamline our ways of working as IT,communication and clinical practices develop.

8. Provide regular,timely and relevant communication through various electronic media that keepsour patients informed about service developments, accessing healthcare,signposting services and materials to maintain their own health and well-being.

Data and Patient confidentiality are sacrosanct we haveclear and detailed policies about the confidentiality of our discussions withpatients, the safe stewardship of their personal and clinical data, how that isrecorded, accessed, stored and maintained. All our staff must comply with thesestandards.

We are there for our patients at some of the mostchallenging or distressing times of their lives. This can mean at timespatients or their families can present angry, frustrated, upset, scared orfrightened. Whilst we have a zero-tolerance approach to our staff being subjectedto any form of verbal or physical abuse or intimidation, we also support ourpatients through these times with patience, carer and compassion.
