Key responsibilities:

Leads.io is on the search for an Finance & Compliance Manager in the UK who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial health of our UK entity. This involves preparing, examining, and analysing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. UK accountants must comply with UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and IFRS, where applicable.

Other responsibilities are:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare UK statutory and group financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements in compliance with UK Companies Act 2006.
  • Manage the company’s general ledger, ensuring proper classification of financial transactions in line with UK GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
  • Ensure that all financial statements comply with UK tax laws, including corporation tax, VAT, and payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns under Making Tax Digital (MTD) guidelines, as well as corporation tax filings, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and accurate calculation of PAYE, National Insurance Contributions (NICs), and pension contributions in accordance with Auto Enrolment regulations.
  • Manage interactions with HMRC and other UK tax authorities in cooperation with the Group Tax Director, ensuring that all inquiries and audits are properly handled.
  • Prepare for external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place for audit compliance under UK law.
  • Identify discrepancies in financial records and resolve accounting issues promptly.
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting, analysing financial data and identifying trends to support local and group management.
  • Provide local management with accurate financial reports and advice on cost controls, tax planning, and profit maximization.
  • Collaborate with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and legal entities as instructed by the group finance function.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable management, including credit control, handling bad debts, and liaising with external debt collection agencies when necessary.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and clients, ensuring that invoicing and payment issues are addressed efficiently.

Requirements

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or UK accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are essential
  • 3-7 years of experience in accounting and consolidation roles
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP is a plus
  • Strong understanding of UK tax law (including VAT, PAYE, NICs, and Corporation Tax), along with a working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a problem-solving attitude and a can-do mentality
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and precise with a high degree of integrity in financial reporting
  • Capable and willing to work in a fast-growing and dynamic environment, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Self-starter who sees things through to the end, with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships in a remote environment
