Research & Development Technical Project Lead

About the job
You will provide R&D technical leadership to our GB market for new product and/or packaging. You will be accountable for the coordination and delivery of the feasibility aspects for core brand innovation, core brand evolution and category expansion projects. Ultimately, you will deliver tangible results that contribute to our company’s growth and competitiveness.
Some of the things you will get involved in;
• Join Gemba activities to get a deep understanding of our consumers
• Develop product/pack concept together with Marketing and other core team members
• Write, own and co-ordinate the Project Brief
• Together with inputs from R&D and supply chain, act as ‘Feasibility’ lead on projects
• Work with New Product Development to deliver accurate, future proofed cost estimates for prototype product
• Work collaboratively with the R&D teams including NPD to develop new formulae: from ingredients selection to industrial samples validation, in line with targets and requirements set in the Product Brief.
• Responsible for organizing and leading trial productions and supporting Quality and Manufacturing at first production.
• Post first production; ensure necessary stability/ sensory testing are conducted by Technical Center teams, and in agreement with project members initiate improvements if needed.
• Technical representation of projects at internal update and alignment meetings and input into Stage & Gate systems (Horizon).

What you bring to the table
• Scientific or engineering background, Food Science, Food technology, Chemistry, Biology, or Nutrition.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in Food & Beverage product/packaging development and industrialization preferably beverages.
• Track record of leading through influence and great communication skills
• Proactive, autonomous and flexible, able to handle simultaneously complex projects
• Consumer Centric (GEMBA centric)
• Strong project management and time management skills
• Experience in quality, supply chain is a plus
