Role Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Ophthalmology Outpatients team, offering excellent patient care and experience at The Centre of Excellence for Eyes at The Nightingale Hospital. This post will be responsible for supporting the Sister/Charge Nurse to lead the team on a daily basis.  Applicants will need to be open to new ways of working in order to support Clinicians and Ophthalmic Technicians in the delivery of Ophthalmology Diagnostic Clinics. It would be an advantage for applicants to have knowledge and experience of working in a busy outpatients setting.

The overall job purpose is to support the Outpatients Sister to provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing and multi-professional team at the Centre of Excellence for Eyes. This includes co-ordinating on a regular basis in the Sister's absence, liaising, guiding and advising the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimum patient care through the Ophthalmology Outpatients pathway.

Working Pattern: Shift pattern is 8am to 6pm over 4 days. NO NIGHT SHIFTS

Pay:  The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 4-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 4. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 4 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 3-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 3/ | NHS Employers).
