Public Sector Business Development Manager (BDM)  (B-IV) – South Region

Acting as a Public Sector Business Development Manager, responsible for both new business and developing existing customers within your territory, representing the voice of the customer is within reach undertaking this full-time job with Athlon UK.

Your road to success

You are responsible for driving a targeted increase in the funded / fleet managed Public Sector portfolio. To be achieved via both the direct acquisition of new customers as well as developing a portfolio of existing customers by providing optimal vehicle fleet solutions across all major brands of car and LCV. You can do this as a Business Development Manager focusing on:

Contributing to annual sales growth performance in line with budget planning as set by the National Sales Manager and/or Chief Commercial Officer Acting as an Athlon Public Sector mobility subject matter expert Supporting the new business proposition development working with key internal and external supplier stakeholders Building a visible pipeline of opportunities through knowledge of forthcoming tenders and existing vehicle renewals Translating ideas and plans into concrete actions in order to create opportunities by keeping one step ahead whilst staying in touch with current & future industry legislation & developments Building strong rapport and commercial relationships with dealers, converters, and framework providers

You will work as part of the Athlon UK Sales Team reporting to the Public Sector Sales Manager, committed to delivering excellent customer solutions. You will be responsible for driving an increase in the portfolio, winning new customers, growing share of existing key accounts, and developing relationships across the supply chain to ensure the highest level of customer delivery and satisfaction. Definitely your excellent team player skills, proven planning and organisational ability for working remotely, strong communication and influencing skills up to Board level alongside excellent presentation and negotiation skills. You also have the drive to influence the decision-making unit. In addition, you have:

Proven new business sales expertise and target achievement with excellent knowledge of the Public Sector in terms of product, fleet funding, tendering, salary sacrifice, and mobility solutions. Considerable and extensive knowledge and experience of LCVs including bespoke vehicle conversions Commercially minded and able to exploit a sales opportunity Fundamental understanding of fleet finance methods, including their structure and the benefits/weaknesses of each product and how they can be matched appropriately to a customer’s requirements, including good knowledge of WLC/TCO Demonstrable thorough understanding of the fleet and mobility marketplace including its current hot topics. An automotive background including multi-marque car and LCV knowledge is desirable A self-disciplined and self-motivated mindset to manage yourself in this fast-paced field role
