Sous Chef
Salary: £29,000

40 hours per week

Our client operates a well-established care home providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Palliative care services. With a warm and welcoming environment, the home is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care that meets the unique needs of each resident.

Our client is looking for a dedicated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in providing nutritious and appealing meals for residents. This role is ideal for a chef who is passionate about creating delicious dishes that cater to varied dietary needs and enhance residents' quality of life. Working within a supportive kitchen team, you'll contribute to the home's positive, caring atmosphere through your culinary skills.

Qualifications
  • Experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a care home, healthcare, or similar environment
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and nutritional guidelines for elderly care
  • Ability to accommodate diverse dietary requirements, including modified textures and allergies
  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive, adaptable attitude
  • Relevant qualification in Food Preparation/Catering (preferred)

  • Meal Preparation: Assist the Head Chef in preparing high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen that complies with health and safety standards.
  • Menu Support: Contribute to menu planning, helping to create meals that are nutritious and varied.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely meal service.
  • Resident Engagement: Interact with residents to understand their preferences and enhance their dining experience.
