Job summary

We are a rapidly evolving Podiatry department. You will be responsible for delivering Podiatric care in multi-chair clinics as well as in the patient's home environment, providing a comprehensive range of foot health services to a diverse community.

Main duties of the job

All Podiatrists within the service are actively encouraged to develop their clinical and professional skills as part of their personal development plan, with access to post graduate training & development.

The successful candidate will be put through a preceptorship programme. This will be supported via regular supervision, clinical placements and regular protected learning time.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential

Degree or equivalent in Podiatric Medicine. Current professional registration with HCPC as Podiatrist and be responsible for maintaining own registration. Certificate in Local analgesic / and or POM as recommended by HCPC.

Knowledge

Essential

Understanding of clinical governance framework and implications for practice. Knowledge and appreciation of lone working risks - policy and procedure.

Experience

Essential

Treatment of a broad range of podiatric conditions including:- -non complex nail surgery -biomechanics -low level wound care Demonstrable evidence of improving and developing practice.

Skills & Abilities

Essential

Knowledge of psycho-social problems and ability to gain patient confidence and co-operation. Problem solving /Decision making in relation to clinical practice.
