Job Overview
Direct clinical monitoring operations for a broad geographic unit. Develop plans to ensure the allocation of human, material, system and fiscal resources for assigned area of accountability. Determine strategic goals and objectives for designated unit and assures operational alignment with senior management priorities. Lead ownership of regional or functional strategic initiatives and works with senior management across disciplines to develop implementation plans.

Essential Functions
• Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters
• Direct a broad segment of clinical operations staff assuring clinical project deliverables are achieved for each clinical role within span of control. Develop managers within area of accountability to develop staff along career progression goals and strategic departmental and corporate priorities.
• Formulate effective strategic goals for clinical operations across regions/countries. Take ownership for strategic initiatives within assigned unit of accountability including development of measures for success.
• Provide strategic leadership and approval for the clinical resourcing process and outcomes, clinical hiring targets and processes and onboarding and training standards.
• Evaluate the quality of the clinical work product for clinical roles. Evaluate workload, quality and budget metrics through regular analysis of data. Initiate action plans to improve efficiencies, project outcomes and quality metrics for clinical operation processes and roles.
• Ensure projected net revenue and contribution margins, overhead costs and operating surplus. Play a leadership role in the budget development process and in the development of key fiscal outcome metrics. Monitor the execution of the clinical budget for designated region via thorough analysis of ongoing outputs. Pro-actively develop forecasts and risk assessment in alignment with budgetary goals. Institute fiscal action plans when necessary.
• Provide executive leadership for study teams when necessary to manage project related challenges and to achieve exemplary customer service. Ensure the improvement of the execution of clinical project processes.
• Drive quality or process improvement initiatives related to corporate or departmental strategic plans. Provide leadership for clinical operations marketing and global sales activities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Health care or other scientific discipline or educational equivalent Req
• 17 yrs of clinical trials, clinical operations, and/or project management experience including 13 years experience in a leadership capacity Req Or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience Req
• Broad knowledge and ability to apply GCP/ICH and applicable regulatory guidelines
• In-depth knowledge of clinical research financial parameters and project financial tracking and accounting methods
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including good command of English
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
• Effective time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
