The Role

Slalom is seeking a Data Governance and Privacy Consultant to join our Data & Technology Team. We believe in a world where every piece of data is trusted, valued, and never abused. Our data-rich world places a responsibility to protect fellow citizens from unscrupulous use of personal, confidential, and sensitive data and unwarranted impacts of data in the wrong hands. As Data Governance & Privacy professionals we support and advise clients to balance flexible use, effective management and a pragmatic approach to handling data to support insight and innovation.

You and what you bring:

Regulatory Compliance Expertise: Understanding of data privacy laws and regulations such as The Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR etc., and the ability to interpret and apply them to various business contexts.Risk Assessment and Management: Proficiency in conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats to data security and privacy, as well as developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.Data Governance Frameworks: Proficiency in designing and implementing data governance frameworks to establish policies, procedures, standards, and controls for effective data management, including data quality, retention, and access control.Consulting and Communication Skills: Strong consulting skills to assess client needs, communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, and provide actionable recommendations for enhancing data privacy and security posture. This includes the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different levels of the organisation.

Nice to have:

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with information security technologies and tools, such as encryption, access management systems, data loss prevention (DLP), and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.Hands-on experience with Master Data Management and Data Cataloguing tools and approachesData Strategy: Experience in creating data strategies to optimise organisational data usage and drive informed decision-making and business outcomes.
