Job summary
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Assistant Research Practitioner within our Research and Development Team.
This is ideally a full time research post but part-time hours will be considered, that is initially for a fixed term of one year with a possibility of extension.
The research team work across all of our Trust services to deliver research opportunities to our community. These are generally National Institute for Health Research Portfolio studies, for which we recruit in excess of 1000 people each year.
Our studies are within the field of mental health, dementia, primary and community care.
This multi-faceted role requires an understanding of research delivery in a variety of contexts. The post-holder will be involved in recruiting participants from existing clinical services and establishing relationships with new services/specialties as required. It requires an aptitude for working with a range of people from different cultures, ages, diagnosed conditions and environments.
We are looking for a motivated and organised person, with excellent communication skills, the ability to work in teams and an understanding of research. Experience of maintaining study site files, of interviewing research participants in healthcare-related studies and understanding research regulatory processes would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
The job will require you to:
support research colleagues working on various studies collect research data, including screening, consenting and interviewing study participants manage research data and study documentation meet with other team members for support and supervision Engage with research participants to assist in research study participation

Person Specification
Qualification and Knowledge
Essential
Knowledge of a range of work procedures and practices acquired through training and experience to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience to diploma level or equivalent
Desirable
Equivalent clinical experience Intermediate level of theoretical knowledge Clinical or related relevant qualification, for example: Psychology Graduate, Nursing, Behavioural Sciences Graduate, Other Health Sciences Graduate or Diploma holder
Experience

Demonstrable experience of practice and procedures relevant to the area of work Experience of using computer systems/packages for organising or recording information
