The Data Privacy Support Officer will take the lead role in triaging, compiling, and issuing Data Subject Access Request [DSAR] responses, ensuring regulatory timescales are met for both client and internal requests.

The role will ensure compliance to the Group’s data privacy and GDPR policies, procedures and framework. The role holder will engage proactively with internal stakeholders and systems across the Division(s) to meet the Davies regulatory requirements under the privacy regime.

Actively seeking to drive continuous improvement and implementation of an exceptional privacy and data protection culture across organisational processes; the role holder will work with the business to identify any potential regulatory compliance gaps, ensuring all identified issues are assessed and mitigated, whilst also supporting the Divisions in managing any privacy requests.

The role requires a hands-on approach to data privacy, data protection and risk management, which includes maintaining compliance with regulations such as GDPR, the DPA 2018 etc.
The role holder shall work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure success.

Key responsibilities
 

Triaging DSARs received by Davies Group and the aligned operating divisions in order to determine: The validity of the DSAR, Davies’ status in relation to the same Any client obligations to be adhered to in dealing with the DSAR. Any exemptions that may be applied to limit the basis and / or scope of the response. Thereafter managing the DSAR in accordance with the output of the triage stage and compiling Data Subject Access Request response on behalf of Davies and its Clients within regulatory timescales Active reporting on full DSAR lifecycle progress, issues and risks Supporting of divisional Privacy Managers in BAU activities where required Privacy / DPA Audit support if required. Supporting in the wider Privacy / GDPR compliance program Identify weaknesses or failures in privacy processes and drive appropriate improvements. Assist clients, suppliers, and partners in DSAR related response activities.

Key skills and experience required

A solid understanding of privacy regulations including DPA / GDPR Experience of handling DSARs or other active engagement in GDPR / DPA Good reporting skills, confident tracking updates and the E2E DSAR lifecycle Professional certification (certified DPO, certified GDPR, CIPP) is desirable. A disciplined but pragmatic approach to data privacy An ability to define deliverables and the tenacity to see them through to completion. Strong communication skills; verbal and written with excellent attention to detail. A continuous improvement mindset, interested in and motivated by keeping up to date with privacy regulations/changes.
