About the role
The Joint Library of Ophthalmology is a shared resource between Moorfields Eye Hospital. The Library supports their academic and clinical endeavour through access to extensive resources in ophthalmology and vision sciences, modern learning spaces, innovative services and expert staff.
The post holder is responsible for designing and delivering a programme of inductions and information skills sessions for all staff and students at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital. They line manage the Senior Library Assistant and deputise for the Librarian, as required. They support the Librarian in overseeing the delivery of library and information services, including collection development.
This is a per week, open-ended post. The salary for this post is £21, per annum including London Allowance.
This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff.

About you
We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:
A recognised qualification in Librarianship or Information Studies Experience of providing and managing services in a busy library environment, dealing with a wide range of users
Experience of providing and managing services in a busy library environment, dealing with a wide range of users
Experience of planning and delivering information skills training
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce reports and public documentation in print and on the web
