We are currently seeking an ESG Corporate Ratings Analyst to join our esteemed research team situated in London. This role will primarily focus on conducting thorough analysis of corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies and performance in the context of our ESG Corporate Rating framework.

As an ESG Corporate Ratings Analyst, your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive research activities aimed at assessing a company's performance in diverse domains. Your daily tasks will encompass the meticulous review of company documents such as sustainability reports, annual reports, and corporate websites, followed by the identification of pertinent subjects for analysis according to our proprietary methodology. In this role, you will engage in both qualitative and quantitative analysis and subsequently convey your findings through individual rating reports and topical or industry-specific sustainability trend studies.

The successful execution of this role necessitates a logical and methodical approach to work, underpinned by a meticulous attention to detail, to ensure the delivery of precise and dependable results. An ability to balance an acute focus on details with a holistic perspective, in conjunction with critical thinking skills, is recognized as vital to achieving success in this role. Following a comprehensive training program encompassing our methodology and evaluation approach, analysts in our ESG Ratings division typically specialize in specific domains, such as social or environmental subjects, sectors (e.g., financials, extractives), and/or regional markets. In the course of their duties, our analysts gain profound insights into the latest ESG and sustainable investment developments.

Notably, our research team operates across various global locations, including Germany, the USA, the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Canada, the UK, Sweden, and Australia. In this capacity, you will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, interfacing with local and international colleagues. Given the dynamic nature of our industry and the international context in which we operate, we place a strong emphasis on cooperation and offer a welcoming, collegial work environment characterized by a high degree of workplace flexibility.

Responsibilities

Review and analysis of company documents (e.g. sustainability reports, annual reports) to evaluate companies' ESG performance and strategies

Data collection and interpretation as well as justification and documentation of conclusions

Presentation of the analysis results and findings in the form of rating reports

Close collaboration with project and team members

Professional skills and qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (a degree in a relevant field such as environmental science or international human rights is desirable but not required)

Excellent English and German language skills, both written and oral (proficiency in languages such as Mandarin, or Japanese is a bonus)

Strong research and analytical skills

Ability to quickly process large amounts of data and information

Experience with sustainability topics or key sectors is an advantage

Skills in statistical computing and data analytics are an additional asset
