The Azure Fiber team in Romsey is seeking dynamic candidates with energy and a passion for innovation to join our team. You will be working on high value and specialist fiber manufacturing equipment at our state of the art fiber facility. The equipment will deliver fabrication technologies for radically novel optical fibers, including glass preform manufacture, optical fiber drawing and associated processes. The role will involve close interaction with the Engineering, Production and R&D teams to facilitate and support the development and rollout of new fabrication methods for next generation fibers and turn them into robust and reliable volume manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will be required to support the scaling up of the new fabrication facility to meet customer demand and company ambition. As such, this is a 'hands on' role based in Romsey five days a week.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related fieldOR equivalent experience Experience in maintaining high-value specialist process equipment Ability to own and solve problems in both an analytical, logical and practical way Ability to understand complex process and equipment problems Able to explain complex technical problems to equipment suppliers Be a self-starter with effective communication and good interpersonal skills, able to work across all disciplines and all levels of the organisation Ability to seek out improvement opportunities Proficiency with Microsoft 365 product family High standard of written and spoken English, both colloquial and technical

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in manufacturing, material, mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering, or related fieldOR equivalent experience Patent or track record of engineering excellency The following skills and attributes would also be beneficial:IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualificationKnowledge and hands-on experience of fiber manufacturing processes, ideally in an industrial settingKnowledge of or training in ISO9001Knowledge of statistical process control methods and their applicationAbility to use lean problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies and practicesThe desire to exceed targets and inspire the team to do the sameTraining in First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures

Responsibilities
