Job summary
The beauty of working as part of our temporary staffing team is that you will have the option to work in different areas of the Trust, gaining experience in different specialities and working with an array of skilled professionals. This is an opportunity for you to join a world renowned hospital caring for patients with complex heart and lung conditions.
Main duties of the job
Do you have at least 6 months clinical experience in an acute setting within the last 2 years and want the freedom and flexibility to decide when you work, then this could be just the role for you.

As part of your induction into the Trust you will have a full week's paid induction which will get you integrated with the Trust's systems and up to date with our mandatory training. You will also get a paid shadow shift in one of our clinical areas where you will be supported in familiarising yourself using our electronic patient record system and getting to know our patients and staff.

Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK's leading heart and lung hospital, delivering care to more than 50,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art hospital in Cambridge. We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure.

Current registration with NMC, part one or two of the register Diploma, BSc or MSc in Nursing
Experience
Essential
At least 6 months clinical experience in an acute setting within last 2 years Adhering to the NMC Code of Conduct and professional practice guidance Good theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing within the clinical area Knowledge of health and safety, clinical governance and quality assurance Awareness and need to demonstrate a professional appearance and behaviour Aware of cultural and social influences on health and of the importance of respecting diversity and differences Ability to problem solve, use own initiative, plan, organise and prioritise workload Proven communication skills, written and oral. Able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, patients and their relatives. Have good IT skills and be motivated to learn and use specialist applications and technologies.
