Severn Trent Connect  is a rapidly growing statutory wastewater company (NAV), working closely with its clients to unlock land for development by addressing water quality challenges. We combine technical knowledge and extensive experience in the water industry with an adaptive, client-focussed approach.

Presently, much of our work is situated in  Southeast England , however we are looking to grow our presence across the rest of England and Wales. We have offices in Canterbury and Coventry. This is a home-based role with access to flexible working arrangements as our work will take you on the road.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our  Systems and Processes Specialist , you’ll report into the Head of Operations & Asset Management and be responsible for ensuring that the underlying technology and business processes within ST Connect are effective and fit-for-purpose.

This will include both back-office and operational requirements for our wastewater operations and taking end-to-end ownership of change projects. You’ll also be overseeing improved ways-of-working and resilience.

Additionally, you’ll take ownership and maintenance of a strong working relationship with the appointed managed service provider (MSP) for technology, as well as the wider Severn Trent group technology team. This will also include Asset Data, particularly within GIS and CMMS.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include: 

Support team with the data quality, data analysis and mapping from ArcGis. Be account for cybersecurity process and ownership of unmanaged business applications. Manage and deliver change projects independently and analyse business information and produce insights across the value chain. There will be some travel to sites to assess assets and GIS for planning of new sites and the occasional visit to our head office in Coventry to work with the department.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE  

To do this role at its best drive to support the team across a wide range of activities including technical support, mapping data analysis, project management and continuous improvement.

You’ll have an awareness of core business technology (O, licensing, mobile device management, ticket management), an affinity for data and a proven track record for working independently and, at times, with limited guidance.

Additionally, you will have strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills at all levels for both internal and external stakeholders using various methods; including formal report writing.

It would also be ideal, but not essential if you have a basic understanding of the water sector and how it operates and Familiarity with one or more of the following types of systems: GIS, SCADA, Power BI, CMMS, CRM, Relational Databases for third-party applications.


As travelling is required, you’ll also have to hold a full driving license.
