Hours: 6 to 18 hours per week

Hourly rate: £13.37

Borough Kitchen is looking to hire a part-time Cook School Assistant who is a reliable, friendly, flexible, dedicated individual with strong attention to detail and is passionate about food and cooking.

This role is part-time and offers excellent flexibility. It requires 1 to 3 evening shifts per week across our Cook Schools locations. Each shift is normally from 16:30 to 22:30 Monday to Friday and will include occasional Saturday evenings.

This is a fun role where you will get to meet a variety of people and share your passion for food.

Key Job Components:

  • Assisting the chef tutors/instructors by organising all ingredients and equipment before every class or event, including weigh-ups and food prep (mise en place)
  • Ensuring that the school is always held to the highest standards, which includes following health and safety guidelines, cleaning/tidying up, sorting out laundry for collection, etc.
  • Maintaining stock control and helping with ordering supplies
  • Ensuring that our customers feel comfortable and enjoy their experience

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 fixed days per week availability
  • Able to commute to all the locations above
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A genuine passion for cooking and teaching
  • Culinary education or experience would be a bonus (but not necessary)
  • Basic IT skills, familiar with G-Suite
