About the Role

Join Our Team as a Safer Community Security Officer in Norwich

Are you passionate about creating a safe and secure environment? Securitas is looking for a dedicated Safer Community Security Officer to protect people and property in Norwich

As a vital member of our security team, you'll be on the frontline, closely monitoring activities and reporting any incidents with tools such as wands and metal detectors. With a strong focus on continuous training and service improvement, you'll play an essential role in maintaining a secure and safe environment.

Position Details:

  •  Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Day shifts 0700-1900)
  • ⏰ Weekly Hours: 60 hours
  •  Qualifications: SIA license required
  •  Transportation: Must have a valid driving licence or reliable access to transport

Job Opportunity
  • Patrol Duties: Carry out internal and external patrols, day and night, in all weather conditions to ensure the security and integrity of the site
  • Customer-Facing Environment: Work in a customer-facing environment, handling situations politely, tactfully, and discreetly
  • Access Control: Manage access to the site at various control points, vehicle barriers, and reception stations, ensuring adherence to access control measures and identification checks
  • Emergency Response: Perform musters, evacuations, and other roles as required in the event of an emergency
  • Search Duties: Conduct searches of vehicles and bags to maintain high security levels and meet client requirements
  • Escort Duties: Escort and chaperone VIPs and other visitors as needed
  • Key Management: Issue keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions (AIs)
  • Safety Reporting: Report and record any faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices
  • CCTV and control room responsibilities

Essential Skills
  • Full SIA Licence
  • Driving Licence
  • 5 years security experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Great time keeping skills
  • Ability to perform routine patrols
  • IT literate
  • Right to work in the UK
  • A five-year check able employment or education history
  • Fluent in English
  • Smart appearance and approachable
