Job summary

We are looking to appoint a full time Consultant Geriatrician & Physician to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Geriatric Medicine team.

Applicants will be expected to have completed, or be within six months of completing, Higher Specialist Training in Geriatric & General (Internal) Medicine with CCT & entry onto the Specialist Register.

You will have a passion and enthusiasm for providing the highest quality compassionate care for frail older people, ambition & skills to drive improvement and engage others in the importance of this work. We anticipate the opportunity for the appointee to develop a sub-specialty interest within the role.

Flexible working options will be considered.

Qualifications

Essential

MRCP/FRCP or equivalent Full registration with GMC and entry on the Specialist Register or entry expected within 6 Months

Desirable

Full participation in CME Higher degree

Experience

Essential

Higher Specialist training scheme in General Internal Medicine/HCE Experience in the management of acutely ill patients Experience of supervising junior doctors

Desirable

Evidence of research activities Higher management training Clinical leadership experience or training

Skills

Essential

Ability to teach clinical skills Able to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and fellow professionals

Desirable

Experience as an educational supervisor or clinical tutor
