Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in the Newport area, who are seeking an ALN experienced Cover Supervisor to join their team
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Cover Supervisor, who is able to supervise whole classes during the absence of the class teacher, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff. The role will include implementing the curriculum and assisting students in completing their learning, in line with their needs and school policies and procedures.
The successful applicant will be the designated Cover Supervisor for the schools ALN provision. To be successful in this role you must have prior experience supporting complex Additional Learning Needs (ALN) including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The provision has five classrooms, and each of the classes are grouped by pupil need rather than age group. The class sizes you will be covering will be small and no more than 12 pupils per class.
This is a perfect opportunity for an Cover Supervisor with an interest in ALN support Alternatively, an experienced ALN Teaching Assistant that is looking for the next step in your career and would like to gain teaching experience
The Role:
- September 2024 start date - contract until August 2025.
- Monday - Friday (term time only)
- 08:30 - 15:30
- £475 - £575 weekly pay (dependant on experience and qualifications)
- Secondary School in Newport
- Working within the ALN provision - specifically covering classes for pupils with Autism and ADHD
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a school setting is essential.
- A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and subjects.
Vetting: Teaching Personnel will assist you with a DBS and EWC registration. You will also need to provide 2 reference details during the registration process.
