NHS Tayside invites candidates to apply for a full-time post of a Clinical Fellow Foundation Level in Surgery Fixed Term from 7th August 2024 until 5h August 2025.

Minimum requirements for the post:

  1. Full registration and license to practice - GMC
  2. At least one year of post-graduate experience in Medicine or Surgery

The post will include work in the following units throughout NHS Tayside:

  • Multi-speciality acute surgical receiving unit (ASRU)
  • Elective surgical wards
  • Surgical High Dependency Unit (elective and emergency)
  • Surgical pre-assessment unit

This is your opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive surgical unit within a teaching hospital where high teaching and training standards are upheld.

If selected, you will work in a combination of elective and emergency wards, enabling you to develop a wealth of clinical knowledge and core clinical and practical skills.

Each candidate is designated a consultant supervisor with whom you will be expected to create an informal learning agreement. There are innumerable opportunities to undertake audits, QIPs and teaching roles. You will be supported and encouraged to build your CV for future training posts.

This post is not recognised for training. Trainees will have the opportunity to achieve sign off for ‘Alternate Certificate of Foundation competencies’ or ‘Certificate for readiness to enter higher speciality training (CREHEST)’ depending on your stage of training and performance.
