Manchester, United Kingdom MSV Housing Group Full time

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week, Mondays to Fridays

Closing date: 19th July 2024

Interviews: TBC

At MSV Housing we offer a range of sheltered housing schemes which provide support and accommodation for elderly and vulnerable people. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Scheme Coordinator to join our established team to achieve our commitment of making sure our customers have good quality safe homes.

Reporting to our Senior Later Living Officer our Scheme Coordinators work closely with internal departments and external agencies to provide an effective and efficient housing management service to our residents in following our internal and Regulator of Social Housing standards. Our Scheme Coordinators are passionate and ensure our residents live happy independent lives at our scheme offering a range of activities to promote their health and wellbeing.

What do our Scheme Coordinators do;

  • Management of scheme and managing customer risk includes customer welfare checks.

  • Conducting Health and Safety checks such as fire alarms, emergency lighting and building checks to ensure the building is safe and secure

  • First point of contact for customer queries

  • Management of the scheme waiting list, conducting interviews and allocating properties in line with our policies and procedures.

  • Organise and facilitate social activities and events at the scheme

  • Monitor low level rent arrears and working collaboratively with internal departments

What we are looking for;

  • Good standard of education and experience with a variety of ICT packages

  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety and completing compliance checks

  • Experience of face to face contact with customers and members of the public

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Passionate in providing a customer focussed service to enable our customers to live happy independent lives.

  • Understanding of housing management, welfare benefits and safeguarding would be an advantage.

We're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all colleagues to share this commitment. As this job is based in a supported housing project for vulnerable adults, an enhanced criminal records background check (free of charge to you) is required. A criminal conviction does not necessarily stop you from working with us. All decisions regarding convictions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Further detail on our commitment to safeguarding young people can be found in our Safeguarding policy attached alongside this vacancy’s candidate pack.

We offer a range of great benefits including:

  • 33 days holiday per year and bank holidays, and a holiday buy scheme

  • Company pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions

  • Enhanced sick pay with up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay

  • Health and Wellbeing Support including an employee assistance programme, free counselling, mental health first aiders and numerous wellbeing initiatives

  • Life assurance subject to being a member of our pension scheme

  • Learning and development to support you to develop the skills you need to fulfil your role and progress in your career

  • Commitment to Equality and Inclusion with employee network groups covering anti-racism, LGBTQ+, disability and long-term health conditions, carers, and menopause.

MSV are also committed to supporting you to balance work and life, including with any caring or parental responsibilities you might have, and have a range of flexible working options and wellbeing support available to all colleagues to facilitate this.
