The People Partner is a super important role responsible for HR, ER and recruitment activities across the business. With a hands-on approach, you will oversee employee relations cases, ensure HR compliance, and support the Operations team in executing key HR tasks. The ideal candidate will have generalist experience in HR and a drive to develop with us as we grow. You will leverage key people metrics, such as employee turnover, retention, and absence, to align HR initiatives with business objectives.

The Day to Day

HR Compliance

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure staff files are accurate and comply with company procedures and UK employment law.
  • Maintain up-to-date contracts of employment, staff handbooks, and ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance to management on legal and compliance matters related to HR.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to manage day-to-day HR tasks, including addressing employee concerns and supporting recruitment processes.
  • Administer employee surveys and enhance internal communication efforts within the hospitality business.

Employee Relations

  • Lead the handling of disciplinary and grievance matters, ensuring that procedures are followed correctly and consistently.
  • Oversee investigations and ensure thorough documentation for employee relations issues.
  • Maintain and manage all employee-related documentation, ensuring proper storage and compliance with company policies.

People Metrics

  • Collect, organise, and analyse data related to key HR metrics, such as employee turnover, retention, and absence.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement based on these metrics and report findings to the Operations team and management.
  • Prepare detailed reports to inform strategic HR decisions.

 Process Support

  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring seamless transitions for new and departing employees.
  • Manage the administration of performance management processes and employee recognition programmes.

Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently followed, providing leadership in implementing updates as needed.
  • Lead the roll-out of new policies across departments, ensuring clear communication and adherence.

  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and growth within the HR function.

Stand out must haves

  • Experience in a similar HR generalist role - In the Hospitality Industry would be a winner.
  • Familiarity with People software (such as Fourth) is advantageous but not essential.
  • In-depth understanding of HR principles, key people metrics, and HR compliance.
  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent qualification is preferred, or a willingness to work towards it.
