**Prince’s Trust Associate Youth Worker (Casual Contract)**

**Contract Duration**: 12 months

**Hours**: Casual Hours to cover busy periods, staff training and annual leave. There are a number of programmes running simultaneously so we would expect it to be approximately a commitment of a day per week depending on demand.

**Salary**:Grade 4 - £11.39 per hour

Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service are looking for Prince’s Trust Associate Youth Worker to join our dynamic team in delivering exciting and inspiring sessions to young people across Staffordshire. You will be working with us to help achieve the Prince’s Trust vision that _every young person should have the chance to succeed_.

We are looking for individuals who have experience of working with young people especially those with experience supporting those who have multiple barriers towards employment, education or training.

As the posts require you to deal directly with young people, good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You should have the ability to work unsupervised and use your own initiative when resolving problems. Organisation of your own time and the ability to evidence capability of meeting deadlines is essential.

It would be beneficial to possess experience in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to demonstrate a practical aptitude. Accredited awareness of Safeguarding and Health and Safety legislation would also be an advantage.

**Overall Function (Purpose)**

Working as a Prince’s Trust Assistant you will work alongside the Delivery Partner Manager and Leaders to deliver and support in the delivery of the suite of programmes we offer to young people across the county.

**Duties to include**:
The Associate Youth Worker supports the Trusts mission ‘to help disadvantaged young people in the UK to change their lives and get into work, education or training’. The tasks and responsibilities are:
To assist the Prince’s Trust Leaders to deliver the required number of programmes, ensuring delivery complies with the processes outlined in the toolkits issued by Prince’s Trust.

Work with the team to progress young people through the programme in line with local budgets, achieving a range of KPI targets including the number of young people recruited; their retention on the programme; and the qualifications and positive outcomes achieved.

Assist in gathering information required for End of Team Reports after each programme and ensure actions to improve the quality of the programme are followed up and completed in good time.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, paper and electronic, as required by The Trust or external funding contracts and in line with The Trust’s data protection policy.

Compliance with the Delivery Partner’s and The Trust’s policies for working with young people, Recruiting Safely, Safeguarding and Health and Safety and any other operational procedures for direct delivery

**Person Specification**:

- Experience of working with challenging young people
- Maths and English Level 2 or GCSE Grade C/Level 4 and above is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Presentation and delivery skills
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent IT and administrative skills
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your work to meet deadlines

A full driving licence is essential.
