A private equity backed organisation delivering enviable growth in its defined sector in the UK and globally In September 2023, KCS received new equity funding from CapVest Private Equity. A number of organic and M&A growth strategies are being pursued with the new backing and this role arises due to the need to quickly and accurately bring newly acquired entities into the Group’s reporting framework.Key Responsibilities:
M&A Integration
Pre-acquisition: understand quote to cash, supplier invoice to pay and other key processes and people within them, to contribute to the post acquisition integration plan. This will set out how we plan to move acquired businesses to KCS group standard platforms and processes. Identify gaps and make robust recommendations of ways to solve. Post-acquisition: Financial integration (detailed) – contribute to the refinement of the post-acquisition integration plan and then lead the delivery of the operational aspects of that plan. Depending on the acquisition, the integration plan is likely to focus on moving acquired business on to KCS group standard platforms and processes so that reporting becomes automated and/or part of existing group accounting and reporting processes.Improvement - KCS group standard platforms and processes
The KCS group has grown rapidly through M&A activity and the pace of that growth is not expected to slow down. The KCS group will continue to invest in common systems and processes so that the existing and acquired businesses are all reported from a robust and homogeneous system of record by the end of CapVest’s investment cycle. For the right candidate, there exists a challenging and rewarding business improvement role, contributing at a senior level, to the shaping and refinement of the go-forward KCS systems platform. The role will be a blend of commercial and systems expertise, a personality able to win ‘hearts and minds’ whilst driving change and an individual willing and able to dig into detail and ‘get hands dirty’ to make things happen. The right candidate will have previous experience in the design, build and control of a global best practice business cycles (quote to cash process, supplier order to pay) that balances efficiency with delivery and gives the business the data points it needs to manage itself and measure success. The right candidate will be able to recognise the value of the KCS group’s intellectual property and design systems which maximises the ability of the group to monetise and safeguard this IP. This would incorporate control and process around product pricing and licensing. The role sits at a unique juncture within the business: whilst integrating acquisitions onto a common platform, the role is aware of and continually contributing to the evolution of that common platform - they ‘see the whole playing board’. Design and own a balanced scorecard for the business functions relating to the quote to cash process. This is to include relevant key performance indicators as well as measurement of the process. Liaise with business units to ensure high-quality curated data is fed into scorecard. Drive change where this is not the case.Skills, Knowledge and Experience :
