About the role

This is a great opportunity in our Specialist Support Team to make a real difference to the lives of people we support. We are looking for an experienced and qualified Senior PBS Practitioner with proven experience of skilling up local teams to use Positive Behaviour Support approaches to improve people’s quality of life and wellbeing.

You will need extensive experience in designing, implementing and embedding person centred assessment and intervention in line with Positive Behaviour Support approaches. Your energy, enthusiasm, drive for quality, excellent communication skills and track record of getting things done are needed. Duties will include:

  • To role model and act as an organisational resource on best practice in supporting people using a Positive Behaviour Support framework across Certiude.
  • To support the PBS Lead in the development of training and resources to build local competency across Certitude
  • To carry out robust person centred functional assessments, analyse data, develop PBS strategies and plans and develop a plan for implementation based on robust mediator analysis.
  • To support the development of Certitude’s local offer (building capability and competency) through mentoring, supervision and coaching in PBS.
  • To assist in the development of Certitude’s offer to supporting people who are at risk of exclusion from universal services and at risk of being admitted to hospital.

About you

To be a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at Certitude, the following are essential:

  • Hold a post graduate qualification in Positive Behaviour Support, Behaviour Analysis or Autism/Learning Disability or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism who have complex and challenging support needs across a range of settings  
  • An understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism including those with complex health needs, additional mental health needs and complex support needs
  • Significant experience of completing person centred functional assessments and developing PBS strategies
  • Experience of delivering training and developing resources for skilling up teams to use PBS approaches
  • Experience of completing bespoke assessments to support people moving including those moving from hospital into their own home.
