This role is:

Hours: Part time (6sessions/ 12 hours managerial and 12 hours clinical per week) Shift types: A mixture of Days,Evenings, Nights, Weekends and Bank Holidays Salary: £117,187 FTE(Pro-rated to 24hrs per week is an annual salary of £75,000)

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be a member of the Clinical Management Team; working primarily atour Urgent Treatment Unit based at QMC. They will work operationally with theNEMS Management Team.

The corepurpose of this post is to provide clinical support and development to theclinical workforce through training and feedback. The post holder willprovide support to the Medical Director, Clinical Director, salaried doctor andnursing staff, other colleagues and take responsibility for the leadership,planning and delivery of effective clinical services and effective team-workingfor their designated clinical areas.

Specifically, the Clinical Lead GP will support the MedicalDirector and Clinical Director in delivering a financially sound business unitwhich provides good clinical care in accordance with healthcare standards

The postholder will be key in any new developments, such as the proposed changes to ourUrgent Treatment Unit (UTU) expanding into an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC).This is a part of the NHS Long Term Plan to develop Urgent Treatment Centreswith a view to help improve patient flow and allow ED colleagues to concentrateon the high volume of patients requiring majors or resus. Therefore, thepost holder will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, usetheir clinical expertise, and demonstrate their managerial experience, to aidthe development of the service to ensure NEMS continues to provide exceptionalpatient care.
