We have anexciting opportunity to become a vital part of Derbyshire Minds SeniorManagement Team as Income Generation Manager, providing effective leadership and management ofour income generation, marketing and external communications functions in linewith our strategy and values.

Main duties of the job

TheIncome Generation Manager is responsible for the overall management,development and delivery of the Income Generation function for DerbyshireMind. They are also the lead managerresponsible for marketing and external communications, including thewebsite. They lead a programme of workto identify and maximise income generation opportunities, to support long termfinancial sustainability for the organisation. They also line manage theMarketing and Fundraising Co-ordinator.

We provide a range of community mental health and wellbeing services designed to support people with mental health problems as well as the wider population.

We have over 50 years experience of working locally, supporting people in Derby and Derbyshire to maintain good mental health.

Job responsibilities

Seeking out new fundraising,business development and income generation opportunities

Developing and maximisingDerbyshire Minds community fundraising programme and strategy.

Applying to a range of trusts,foundations and grant-giving bodies.

Leading and growing DerbyshireMinds corporate fundraising programme.

Writing tender bids for newcontracts and services.

Acting as the lead manager formarketing and external communications, including social media.

Developing and maintainingDerbyshire Minds website.

Managing and supporting aMarketing and Fundraising Co-ordinator.

Working with the Chief Executiveto develop an income generation strategy.

Attending the Income GenerationStrategy Group and Board meetings as required.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of all major fundraising techniques. Knowledge of key legislation, ethics and best practice in relation to fundraising. Working knowledge of marketing and external communications, including websites and social media.

Skills and Abilities

Essential

Advanced IT skills, including in the use of Microsoft Office. Excellent writing skills, numeracy and literacy, with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Desirable

Professional qualification in fundraising.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in an income generation or fundraising role within a charitable/voluntary organisation. Experience of writing bids and grant applications. Experience of developing relationships with trusts, foundations and/or grant-giving bodies. Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers. Experience of working with CRM databases. Proven track record of securing new income and meeting income generation targets.

Means of transport to regularly attend our Derby office and sites across Derbyshire when required, to fulfil the requirements of the role.
