This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient careusing the nursing process within the framework of the NursePractice Act ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards ofPractice. Effectively delegates directs and assists licensed andancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patientoutcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural ethnic and religiousdiversity in all interactions; maintains involvement in activitiesaimed toward the achievement of unit and the departments strategicgoals and objectives and demonstrates professional responsibilityand accountability for his/her own practice and supports thecompanys philosophy of nursing.

Education
Required Registered nurse diploma.
PreferredAssociate or bachelors degree in nursing.
WorkExperience
Required Minimum of 2years
Certifications
Required Current registered nurse (RN) license in state ofpractice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Certification in clinical specialtyarea.
KnowledgeSkills and Abilities (KSAs)
Good organizational and time management skills andability to be selfdirected. Ability todemonstrate good judgment. Good interpersonalskills.JobDuties
Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery ofpatient care. Assesses learning needs andimplements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs ofthe patient family and other groups or disciplines.Communicates delegates and manages nursing team resources(human and fiscal) properly serving as a leader and partner on theinterdisciplinary team. Uses data informationand knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieveoptimal outcomes. Embraces concepts andbehaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee moraleand improvement in the profession of nursing.Adapts behavior to the specific patient populationincluding but not limited to respect for privacy method ofintroduction to the patient adapting explanation of services orprocedures to be performed requesting permissions and communicationstyle. Heavy Work Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionallyand/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 poundsof force constantly to move objects. Duties performedroutinely require exposure to blood body fluid andtissue.
The incumbent works in a patient carearea in an area where patients enter directly with patients and/orwith specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There maybe an occupational risk of exposure to communicablediseases.
Because the incumbent works in ahealthcare setting there may be an occupational risk of exposure tohazardous medications or hazardous waste in the environment throughreceipt transport storage preparation dispensing administrationcleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level ofexposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of therole.
