WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Senior member of Technical Specialist community across AI Governance specialism you will be a lead subject matter expert for the company.

You will:

lead on AI Governance develop, implement and operate the AI Governance Framework and Policies contribute on the definition of AI Ethics represent JLR on AI committees and organisations

You will be the prime custodian of AI governance for applications and products utilising AI technology. You will ensure standards compliance cross business and compliance with AI regulations, mainly the EU AI Act.

You will provide expertise, collaborate with and advise other functions, including the IDT AI & Data Science team, IDT Architecture team, IDT Cyber Security Team, IDT Data Management team, IDT Data Enablement and Adoption team, JLR Procurement, JLR Ethical team, JLR Data Privacy team, JLR Audit team, JLR AI owners and JLR AI development teams to ensure AI governance is rolled out and followed across JLR.

Externally, you will represent JLR on AI committees and organisations who set standards and regulations for AI. You will be expected to teach, mentor and present at global conferences on the topics of AI governance as well as coaching and promoting AI governance at JLR.

THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and continuously improve a business aligned governance framework and policies for AI, ensuring compliance with AI regulations, mainly the EU AI Act. Enable a link between the several teams doing AI across JLR and the JLR teams responsible for ethics and privacy. Create OKRs and quantifiable KPIs to enable goals and measurement of compliance to AI governance and policies. Define the criteria that must be met by AI products to achieve governance compliance goals. Advise and support the IDT Data Enablement and Adoption team on awareness, education and training activities related to AI governance. Coach and mentor the JLR AI community of practice on AI governance and policies. Recommend specific tools to support compliance with the AI governance framework and policies. Lead on AI risk management and compliance reviews. Present at global conferences on the topics of AI governance. Represent JLR in AI governance committees and organisations. Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

MSc on Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or on a related field, or previous work experience. In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in AI technologies, products, tools and processes. Strong understanding of AI governance. Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders. Strong influencing and communicating skills across all organisation, including senior stakeholders and non-technical people. Membership of appropriate AI committees and organisations. Deep understanding of the AI regulatory regimes. Experience in facilitating workshops and engagement sessions.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

PhD on Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or on a related field. Previous experience defining AI governance frameworks and policies. Significant experience teaching / coaching / mentoring developers and stakeholder in the societal challenges of AI technology. Previous experience presenting on relevant conferences on the topic of AI. Wide network with institutions and organisations on AI.
