Senior SEN Teaching Assistant / Specialist HLTA - SN2

My client is seeking a dedicated Senior Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role offers the chance to guide students through their educational journey, helping them develop essential life skills and achieve their fullest potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

 

This role will be working on a full-time, term-time only basis for around 6 hours per day.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups, helping them gain essential skills for their future education or employment
  • Safeguard students by following established policies and reporting any concerns to the appropriate team
  • Assist with the physical, emotional, and educational needs of students, including personal care and mental health support
  • Supervise and support students with SEND in various learning environments, ensuring their safety and development
  • Plan, organize, and lead learning activities, adapting them as needed to meet the needs of each student
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals about student progress and well-being

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described
  • Have a strong understanding of how to support students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom
  • Possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with students, staff, and parents
  • Ideally be restraint trained
  • Be proactive in planning and delivering tailored educational activities under the guidance of a teacher
