Band Nursing Assistant

The Respiratory Intervention service at the John Radcliffe Hospital currently has a vacancy for a full-time band nursing assistant. The service provides bronchoscopy and pleural procedures to a variety of patients.

We are looking for a highly motivated person who would like to join our enthusiastic team. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be required to rotate through the recovery area and into our procedure room to maintain a full range of support skills.

The role requires an enthusiastic, hardworking, and flexible person, with excellent communication skills. This would enable you to be involved with and undertake a variety of tasks to assist with the smooth delivery of care to ensure the best outcome for our patients. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate compassion and commitment to deliver high standards of care.

Main duties of the job

·

The Respiratory Intervention unit performs a variety of respiratory procedures, such as bronchoscopy and pleural interventions, to aid cancer diagnosis and symptom management of patients with cancer and other conditions. The nursing assistant will be required to assist the nursing and medical team in the procedure room and in the recovery area. They will assist the nurses to provide a high standard of patient care, which is patient focussed and in consultation with the patient, their relatives and the nursing/medical team.
